No, really – this story is just weird. A candy loving black bear found itself having the time of its life in a candy store in Colorado a couple of weeks ago. Apparently, our considerate friend walked right through the front door and helped himself to some sweets, including the appropriately named “cookie bears,” which are chocolate chip cookies dipped in caramel and milk chocolate.

We understand. They sound delicious.

Here’s why we think the story warrants the title of Weird Candy News, though. Not only did the bear come back SEVEN TIMES, he didn’t break anything. Or leave wrappers. Or cause any mess at all, really.

Instead, he took what he wanted, walked outside and ate his candy like a good little bear. (You can watch the whole thing online: the candy shop caught it on surveillance video.) The owners think he may have been scared off by a passing car.

Anyway, this got us to thinking. I mean, what if woodland creatures start raiding all of our candy stores? Maybe skunks will develop a taste for chocolate covered Oreos. What if the deer get a taste for vegetable chips? And if we can train apes to speak to use using American Sign Language, what’s to stop them from purchasing our bulk candy wholesale, thus cleaning us out of our entire supply of dried fruit and nuts?

(Or lollipops. Clearly, this little guy prefers Blow Pops to bananas.)

Our online candy shop could be doomed! Because we gotta be honest: if a giant bear walks into our warehouse demanding candy, we’re not going to take the time to ask him is his Visa card is current.
