Take A Sweet Trip Down Memory Lane with Metro Candy!

Thursday, July 19th, 2012

One of the best things about candy is its ability to take us back to a simpler and—pun intended—sweeter time. At Metro Candy, we’re in a particularly nostalgic mood lately and eager to help you turn back the clock as well with “A Sweet Trip Down Memory Lane!”

No matter what old (or young) you are, Metro Candy has the treats you cherished long ago at unbeatable prices. Who didn’t love cracking open a box of Sweetarts, or figuring out how many licks it took to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll pop ? Maybe you ate Pez candy because you loved those addictive little mini-bricks, or because Mom wouldn’t let you buy another Pez disperser until you finished all the candy. Either way, we’ve got Pez candy—and, of course, those collectible dispersers!

Remember all the urban legends about Pop Rocks and Coke? Admit it: Those tall tales (Mikey the Life Cereal kid is alive and well) made you want Pop Rocks even more. Root beer barrels provided the delicious taste of a can of soda in a piece of hard candy. And who didn’t enjoy picking pieces of Bit-O-Honey out of his or her teeth long after the candy had been consumed?

The best part about getting reacquainted with the candy of your youth? The low cost of traveling back in time! Not only does Metro Candy offer wholesale prices to ALL our customers, we also have a NO ORDER MINIMUM policy. So buy as much or as little as you want—you’ll enjoy the same incredible deals no matter what! So visit our website and stroll down memory lane today!

Father’s Day Candy is a Sweet Idea!

Saturday, June 16th, 2012

So, we were puttering around on the Internet this week looking for good Father’s Day candy ideas, and we ran across this really cool article. Apparently, a marketing company polled 1100 fathers about what kind of brands they’ve heard good things about. And you know what the number one answer was? M&M’s.

And that got us super excited, because it means that the best Father’s Day gifts don’t have to be really expensive – which is good, since the economy is tight.  So then we started thinking of what kinds of Father’s Day candy gifts would be cool. (It’s not like you’re gonna give your dad a bag of M&M’s with a little sticky note that says, “Heard dads like candy. Here you go,” right?

Anyway, we came up with some pretty cool ideas, and we thought we’d share them with you:

  1. Scavenger hunt – ET style. Instead of Reece’s Pieces, you could use M&M’s to lead your dad around the house to his gift. (Which could be a pile of Snickers, since they came in at #3 on the survey.)
  2. Cake.  If your dad has a sweet tooth, you could write “Happy Father’s Day” out in M&M’s on a cake to make his dessert a little more special.
  3. Gym bag. If your father has a gym membership, why not fill up a new gym bag with some individually wrapped bags of M&M’s? (This way he won’t feel guilty about eating them.) You could do the same thing with a bowling ball bag. If you buy candy online in bulk, you can save some serious dough.
  4. Big ole’ pile of candy. (This one might not be really original, but it’s still one of the best father’s Day gifts for candy lovers.)

Anyway, we just figured we’d share some ideas with you in case you’re still looking for a fun gift for Dad for his special day. And you really can’t go wrong with the # 1 choice of fathers everywhere, right?

How are YOU sweetening your Father’s Day this year? :)

Happy Father’s Day, everyone!
