Do It Yourself Christmas Candy Ideas

Wednesday, November 28th, 2012

With Thanksgiving behind us, it’s time to start creating some Christmas candy ideas to go with our jingle bells and mistletoe, don’t you think?  And with so many Christmas candies to choose from, it’s been pretty easy finding neat DIY projects that whole families can join in.

The Dayton Daily News has some cool Christmas candy ideas: namely how to make a small tree entirely out of red and white mints. And I was all excited to try it, thinking maybe I could give them out for the holidays.

And then I saw this on Amazon.com:

Can you say chocolate baby Jesus?

Too much?  Maybe too much.

So there’s got to be a better use of Christmas candies than a chocolate nativity, right?  I mean, who’s NOT going to feel guilty biting into the head of the Virgin Mary? Besides: I’ve neither the time nor the inclination to make a bunch of nativity sets – not when I can just buy candy online and be done with it.

Then I thought, Well – maybe candy Advent calendars.  They’re fun, and you get to open a door for a wee prize every day.

But I really wanted some Christmas candy ideas that I could make with my family, or even the gang here at MetroCandy.com. And this is what I came up with:

  1. Make giant Santa faces using only caramel filled chocolate balls.
  2. Attach some chocolate ornaments to Christmas wreaths made from real or fake garland.
  3. Make some holiday-themed lollipops and use red or green jelly beans for decoration.
  4.  Buy some small stockings and fill them with coal.
  5. Say to heck with it all and start handing out peeps.

I guess I’m not very creative, huh?

So what we really want is to hear what YOUR Christmas candy ideas are.  Will you be handing out Chanukah and Christmas candies this year?  Are you doing any DIY projects for the holidays?  Hit us up in the comments section and let us know what you’ll be doing after you buy some candy online.

Friday, July 27th, 2012

Everyone likes going to the movies, but let’s face it, a night out at the cinema has gotten pretty pricey. The average ticket price in 2011 was $7.93, almost double what it was in 1994. And we all know the spending has only begun once you purchase the ticket. After all, what’s a movie without candy? (Answer: Not nearly as much fun)

The good news is increasingly impressive technology allows people to purchase movies on DVD or Blu-Ray and get the full moviegoer experience from the comfort of their living rooms. And now Metro Candy is giving you another reason to wait and enjoy “Movie Night” at home by offering wholesale prices on boxes of theatre candy!

Regardless of your tastes, you’ll find what you love here, and at the type of unbeatable prices you’ll never find at theatres. Enjoy chocolate with your blockbusters? We’ve got M&Ms as well as those delicious Sno-Caps. Prefer a bit of fruit flavor as you relax and watch a flick? Choose from our boxes of Skittles, Jujyfruits and Runts. Looking for an entirely different experience? You can’t go wrong with Mary Jane and the combination of peanut butter and molasses. And hey—if you want to go to the movies but still buy your candy from Metro Candy and sneak it in, we won’t tell anyone.

Whether you watch movies in the theatre or at home, there’s no reason for you to pay theatre prices for your movie candy! Not only does Metro Candy offer wholesale prices to ALL our customers, we also have a NO ORDER MINIMUM policy. Take A Sweet Trip Down Memory Lane with Metro Candy!

Thursday, July 19th, 2012

One of the best things about candy is its ability to take us back to a simpler and—pun intended—sweeter time. At Metro Candy, we’re in a particularly nostalgic mood lately and eager to help you turn back the clock as well with “A Sweet Trip Down Memory Lane!”

No matter what old (or young) you are, Metro Candy has the treats you cherished long ago at unbeatable prices. Who didn’t love cracking open a box of Sweetarts, or figuring out how many licks it took to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll pop ? Maybe you ate Pez candy because you loved those addictive little mini-bricks, or because Mom wouldn’t let you buy another Pez disperser until you finished all the candy. Either way, we’ve got Pez candy—and, of course, those collectible dispersers!

Remember all the urban legends about Pop Rocks and Coke? Admit it: Those tall tales (Mikey the Life Cereal kid is alive and well) made you want Pop Rocks even more. Root beer barrels provided the delicious taste of a can of soda in a piece of hard candy. And who didn’t enjoy picking pieces of Bit-O-Honey out of his or her teeth long after the candy had been consumed?

The best part about getting reacquainted with the candy of your youth? The low cost of traveling back in time! Not only does Metro Candy offer wholesale prices to ALL our customers, we also have a NO ORDER MINIMUM policy. So buy as much or as little as you want—you’ll enjoy the same incredible deals no matter what! So visit our website and stroll down memory lane today!
